Detailing is far more than a normal car wash and wax. There are several stages in the process:- Decontaminating, as its name suggests, removes bonded contaminants such as road tar, tree sap, bird lime, industrial fallout and existing polish and wax.
- Rejuvenating or Paint Correction, is a highly skilled process using high grade polishes with a variety of abrasiveness. A Paint Thickness Gauge is used to determine the correct level of abrasiveness. The process corrects defects ranging from swirls (cobwebbing), bird etchings, water marks, light scratches, scuffs and faded dull paintwork.
- Protecting. After correcting the vehicle's paintwork it will need protecting to maintain the Show Car Finish. The surface is prepared with a pre-wax cleaner, then carnauba wax is applied by hand or pad.
